This award is named in honor of Gerard Benyo, Class of 1969. Gerry was an outstanding student and football player while attending Chaminade and St. Lawrence University. He played defensive back position on the 1968 CHSFL Varsity Championship team. He later taught and coached at Chaminade. He contracted Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease) and died on September 1, 1977. This award is given to the most outstanding member of the Varsity Football Team.
